It’s a very special episode of Campbells& Co, Cate and Bronte are joined by Olympic Gold medalist and World Record Holder Lani Pallister.

Lani was born into swimming royalty - her mother was an Olympic swimmer and her godmother is Dawn Fraser, it doesn’t get any more royal than that! But Lani’s career has been challenging from the get go.

In her chat, she bravely shares how she over came an eating disorder, heart surgery and COVID all in the space of 12 months.

This week on the podcast Cate and Bronte have a little chuckle at the absolute flop that was the Enhanced Games. Bronte reckons she could jump in the pool now, busted ACL and all and still swim faster than the 4th place getter in the women’s 100m freestyle.

The main topic this week is around parenting elite athletes. It’s rare to have one Olympian in a family - let alone two. So what did Mr and Mrs Campbell do to instill excellence, dedication and perseverance in their children? The answer might surprise you.

If you like the show, be sure to send it to a friend or family member.

Thanks for listening!

Recommendations from the Episode:

Book: The Girl with All the Gifts by M.R Carey

Article: Aryna Sabalenka Doesn’t Let Up in Vogue

See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Welcome back to another episode of Campbells and Co.

This episode Cate and Bronte chat about the marathon world record. Kenyan Sebastian Sawe crossed the London marathon finish line in a staggering 1:59.30 - that’s an average running speed of 21km/h. .

However, that was not the only extraordinary feat that race. Ethiopia’s Yomif Kejelcha was only 11 second behind Sawe, running 1:59.41 in his London marathon debut.

After the race, Sebastian Sawe was pictured holding up his shoes - which caused controversy when they were first released as critics claim it gave runners too much of a boost.

It raises the question, with not one but two men breaking the two hour barrier for the first time in an official race, was it the shoe technology that led to this feat? Or was the 2 hour marathon barrier a psychological barrier that once crossed, opens the door for others to follow?

Let us know, we’d love to hear your thoughts.

We hope you enjoy this episode of Campbells & Co.

Recommendations from the Episode:

Read: The Correspondent by Virginia Evans

Read: Acid for Children by Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers

See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

It’s Winter Olympics time! AKA it’s time for the most terrifying, anxiety inducing two weeks of TV you will ever see. Whether is watching someone plunge down a mountain at 140km per hour, launching themselves either off a cliff or down an icy wall pretending to be a ‘half pipe’ or gliding and twirling across the ice with blades strapped to their feet, there is no denying that there is something a bit nuts about winter sports athletes.

Cate and Bronte unpack some of the biggest moments of the Milano 2026 Winter Olympic Games. Australia is currently sitting 11th on the medal table - ahead of countries like Canada. We have 3 gold medalists, Cooper Woods, Josie Baff and Jakara Anthony. A silver for Scotty James and a bronze for Matt Graham. This has been our most successful Australian Winter Olympics team in History .

And we unpack some of the major international headlines, King Klaebo from Norway who picked up his 9th gold medal - 4th from these Games. Lindsey Vonn - was she courageous or selfish? And THAT post race interview from biathlete Sturla Laegried. So many stories to discuss. <itunes:title>Harry Garside on his lowest moment and where to next.</itunes:title>

This week Cate and Bronte are joined by Olympic bronze medal boxer Harry Garside. In one of his most honest and vulnerable chats, Harry reveals how his relationship with boxing is changing, his battle complicated relationship with fame and overdosing in front of his mum in his lowest moment.

Harry takes us right back to the start of his career; from walking into his first boxing gym at just 9 years old to qualifying for Tokyo, winning a bronze medal. He also discusses his Paris Olympic campaign. Having publicly announced his intention to win gold, Harry was knocked out in the first round. He generously takes us inside that moment and the lessons he’s learned.

Harry is one of the deepest thinkers in sport and openly discusses his struggles with identity, masculinity and failure. He was also labelled a certified ‘baddie’ in the Village - and apparently that is a good thing.

I hope you enjoy the chat with Harry - and apologies for the audio quality.

We’d Love to Hear From You

If you have a question you’d like answered, please send us a message or voice note at @Campbells&CoPod on Instagram

See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
