One of the most effective tools used to maintain Systemic Racism is financial stability. Those who benefit most from Systemic Racism often experience generational wealth and work to maintain said wealth while keeping those without it in lesser financially stable positions. We'll unpack this notion while examining ways some are making a deliberate effort to improve the financial standing of Black and Brown people through the funding of POC owned businesses and recruiting and promoting POC.

First we have the Executive Director of the Black Economic Council, Segun Idowu, who details the importance of financial stability for Black and Brown folk and what he's doing to help with that effort. Director Idowu points out how the Average White Family in Greater Boston has a net worth of over $200,000 while the Average Black Family's net worth is $8. The issue is exasperated when Black and Brown Folk are also murdered by Law Enforcement who often get away with doing so. How has Director Idowu's efforts to bring Body Cameras to the Boston Police Department affected the overall effort to dismantle systemic racism in the greater Boston area? You'll find out this and much more!

We also hear from listener Simon, a Boston area resident who is fed up with people claiming to be "allies" who aren't doing much more than sharing memes in an effort to pretend to helping dismantle systemic racism. We start with the Founder and Executive Director of the New Democracy Coalition, Kevin Peterson, who is at the forefront of the campaign to rename a Boston landmark that was not only financed by the sale of African Slaves, but also served as a marketplace to buy and sell Slaves; Faneuil Hall Marketplace. One would assume renaming such a historically traumatic landmark would be met with support right? Well; not so much. Listen as Director Peterson details how many of Boston's top Elected Officials have stood firmly against renaming Faneuil Hall and how their disdain has affected Director Peterson personally.

We then have an eye opening conversation with License Independent Clinical Social Worker Jeff Butts, whose clients are primarily Young People who experience and have committed acts of Violence. How does Systemic Racism impact where we live and a Person's, especially a Young Person's, ability to feel safe. It's easy to comprehend why protests in the 1770's escalated into riots and vandalism like the Boston Tea Party; which eventually turned into a full scale conflict. Taxation Without Representation is the antithesis of what The United States of America stands for. This is what we are taught in school and what we all generally agree on right? So why are so many of us surprised when the response to innocent Black and Brown People being murdered by Police is chants of Black Lives Matter? Why are so many of us surprised when chants turn into Protest, and in some cases Protest turns into riots? If those that your tax dollars employ are able to murder you when you are innocent and get away with it isn't that Taxation Without Representation? We explore these issues through the stories of two people doing what they can to dismantle systemic racism.

First we have Educator, Father and Activist Kyhree Veale. Mr. Veale is a Young Leader who has been on the front lines of various protests including those specific to bringing awareness to Black Lives Matter and advocating for the end of Police Brutality. What was it like being on the front lines of the Boston Black Lives Matter Protests that made International News? Why does Mr Veale refer to those that co-opted an otherwise peaceful protest and turned it into a riot "Cowards"? What reforms would Mr Veale like to see within Police Departments?

We then hear from former Assistant District Attorney and current Defense Attorney Stephanie Soriano. Hear Attorney Soriano detail what Qualified Immunity is and why it should be reformed. How did her drive to bring about change to Systemic Racism within the Judicial System and economics ultimately drive her to switch from District Attorney to Private Practice Defense Attorney. What are her thoughts on if we will ever see the change that we are advocating for?

First, we have retired United States Army officer Keith Atkins who reflects on the life and tragic death of his cousin, Atlanta PD murder victim Rayshard Brooks. How has this tragedy affected the loved ones of Rayshard Brooks and what role can police reform play in ensuring murders like this do not happen again?

Then, we hear from Boston City Councilor Michelle Wu who details how the tragic murder of George Floyd has impacted how she addresses systemic racism, not only as an elected official, but also as a mother.
