David Berthon's Motor TorqueWith Holden’s closure of its local car manufacturing operation in just over 12 months and its move to full on-line importer the company has announced it will embark on a comprehensive rebranding program that aims to shift Australian’s image of the car maker. The rebranding includes a refreshed more modern logo and branding graphics, a new television and social media campaign and the exclusive use of young Australian electronic music star Flume’s unreleased song Trust. Whilst acknowledging Holden’s significant brand heritage its General Manager Marketing Communications and Digital Natalie Davey put the new moves best ‘We probably been a little complacent in the past for thinking the Holden brand couldn’t fail. We have got product coming out that will appeals to people beyond who love us already. We need to progress.’ Chairman and M.D. Mark Bernhard adding – we need to have a product portfolio that appeals to a diverse range of people - vehicles that appeal to multi-cultural Australia, vehicles that appeal to younger people, vehicle that appeal to women.”
